Niamh O’Malley
Born Co Mayo, Ireland, 1975, Niamh O’Malley lives and works in Dublin. O’Malley makes sculptural interventions, paintings and drawings, that sit alongside her silent moving image work.
Recent solo exhibitions include 2012: Hå Gamle Prestegard, Norway, 2011: Green on Red Gallery, 2010: Centre Culturel Montehermoso, Spain, Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, Gaain Gallery, Seoul, South Korea. 2009: Void, Derry, Northern Ireland, Galleri Flach-Thulin, Stockholm, Green on Red Gallery, Dublin. 2008: Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin.
Group exhibitions include Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin Contemporary 2011, PS1, MoMa, New York. Her work is included in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Hugh Lane, Dublin City Gallery, The Arts Council of Ireland, GAM Turin.
She holds a PhD from the University of Ulster, Belfast, 2003.
